Glen Iris

Welcome to Glen Iris, a suburb steeped in history and charm, located just 10 kilometres south-east of Melbourne’s bustling Central Business District. Originally settled by farmers in the 1830’s, Glen Iris’ rich history dates back to the 1850’s when the first land sales took place. Among the pioneers was J.C. Turner, a solicitor who established Glen Iris, a grand residence acquired from a settler who arrived in Victoria on the ship named the Iris.

Nature and Modern Comforts

Glen Iris features a wide variety of property types, including apartments, villa units, townhouses, period homes, and spacious blocks.

Our services are in high demand among families seeking to secure homes in this area. They are drawn to Glen Iris for its lush parks, excellent local schools, and welcoming family friendly atmosphere. With sought-after school zones, convenient transport links, and easy access to freeways, Glen Iris offers an ideal setting for families seeking both convenience and community.

Community Growth

In the early years, Glen Iris was adorned with orchards, dairies, and brickworks. The Methodist church was built in 1865, reflecting the growing community, and a school followed in 1872, both located in Glen Iris Road and still serving the community into the twenty-first century. The 1880’s saw the emergence of large villas that added character to the area.

Timeless Appeal

A general store, opened in 1882, became a focal point for the community and laid the foundation for a small local shopping centre that continues to thrive today. Glen Iris’ charming streetscapes, with a mix of historic and modern architecture, create a unique and inviting atmosphere.

Parks and Serenity

Glen Iris is graced by lush greenery and recreational spaces, including Glen Iris Park, Ferndale Park, and Summerhill Park. These parks offer residents and visitors a haven for outdoor activities, leisurely strolls, and family picnics. Not forgetting Gardiner’s Creek that winds it’s way through the suburb providing a tranquil ambiance, an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Nurturing Minds

Education is a key feature of Glen Iris, with a variety of government and independent schools catering to residents. Notable institutions include Camberwell South Primary School, Glen Iris Primary School, St Cecilia’s Primary School, St Roch’s Catholic Primary School, Sacré Cœur, and Korowa Anglican Girls’ School. These schools contribute to the vibrant and diverse educational landscape of the suburb.

Convenient Connectivity

Transportation is made easy with two train stations, Gardiner and Glen Iris, connecting residents on the Glen Waverley railway line. Melbourne bus routes further enhance accessibility, ensuring that Glen Iris is well-connected to the wider metropolitan area.

With a mix of historical charm, excellent educational facilities, and convenient transportation links, Glen Iris offers a delightful suburban lifestyle within the Cities of Boroondara and Stonnington. Whether you’re strolling through the tree-lined streets, exploring local shops, or enjoying the cultural and historical landmarks, Glen Iris provides a warm and welcoming community atmosphere. “Being interstate and the boarders closed we were nervous in purchasing our next investment without flying down to see it.

However, it became evident from the start that you were not going to allow us to make a final decision until we were well educated not only on the property and the area, but the impact covid was having on the market and what kind of tenant we would achieve etc.

The countless photos, videos, facetime walkthrough and answering all of our questions have not gone unnoticed.

    Thanks so very much, Lynda!”

“Engaging with Lynda was one of the best decisions we have ever made and we wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her to others.

After many months of searching for our first home, we felt disheartened by the market, but Lynda renewed our hope and confidence while also providing peace of mind that we had someone in our corner with immense expertise and industry knowledge.  Lynda is at all times professional, warm and respectful, and she genuinely cares about the best interests of her clients.

Our expectations were exceeded when Lynda secured our first home at a brilliant price and in a wonderful location. She then guided us through the subsequent renovation process. Leveraging her industry contacts, she coordinated all quotes and trades to work within our budget while never compromising on quality.

Lynda is proactive and had solutions ready for challenges before we even knew they existed! Her dedication and attention to detail are second to none; we had complete trust in Lynda from the beginning.

We’re thrilled with the result, and wouldn’t be living where we are today if it wasn’t for Lynda.  Thanks, Lynda!”

“Having tried to navigate the real estate process alone for quite some time, after starting working with Lynda success came quickly! She made the whole experience easy, with her calm, assured knowledge and guidance. Her communication throughout was excellent, which meant I was able to feel completely informed and part of the process, with the bonus of not having to worry about all the things that take time and effort making sure a property is going to be right.

Lynda took the time to understand the kind of property I was after, even though these were few and far between. Most significantly, her ability to navigate the challenges of COVID impacting the property market, and knowing that I was being protected through negotiations was invaluable. Lynda made what had until then been quite an unpleasant process, easy, relaxed, and even fun sometimes!

    Thanks, Lynda!!”

“After looking for 6 months and having to have my pre-approval updated once again I had almost given up on the idea of finding my next property.

Then whilst having coffee with a friend (and complaining) she flicked me your card!

The rest is like magic! – Within two weeks you had found not only the ideal property however it was pre-market giving me first option to secure without all the competition.

Thank you so very much. We are very happy!”
